§ 1 Scope, contractual partner
- These General Terms and Conditions (ticket terms) apply to all contracts for the purchase of tickets to the German Legal Tech Summit 2026 on 3 December 2026 at the HCC Hannover (Hannover Congress Centrum, Eilenriedehalle), Theodor-Heuss-Platz 1–3, 30175 Hannover, Germany (the “event”) concluded via the ticket shop on germanlegaltechsummit.com.
- The contractual partner and organiser is German Legal Tech Summit GmbH, Hans-Böckler-Allee 26, 30173 Hannover, Germany, represented by its Managing Director Jörg Offenhausen, registered in the commercial register of the Local Court (Amtsgericht) of Hannover under HRB 231250, phone +49 511 547 47 49 46, email info@germanlegaltechhub.com (“we”).
- These ticket terms apply equally to consumers (Section 13 BGB) and businesses (Section 14 BGB) unless expressly stated otherwise. Deviating terms of the customer do not apply, even if we do not expressly object to them.
- Exhibitors and sponsors are subject exclusively to the separate terms and conditions for exhibitors and sponsors.
§ 2 Conclusion of contract, ordering process
- The presentation of tickets in the ticket shop does not constitute a legally binding offer but an invitation to place an order.
- Orders are placed in four steps: (a) selecting the ticket type and quantity, optionally with a discount code, (b) entering the attendee for each ticket, (c) entering the billing details, (d) reviewing all details. Before submitting, all details including the total price are displayed once more; input errors can be corrected at any time using “Change” or “Back”.
- By clicking “Order with obligation to pay” (for free tickets “Book for free”), the customer submits a binding offer to purchase the selected tickets. For payment via Stripe, the customer is then redirected to our payment service provider.
- The contract is concluded when we accept the order by sending an order confirmation by email. We send the order confirmation immediately after successful payment when paying via Stripe, and immediately after the order is submitted for pay by invoice and for free tickets. If the payment via Stripe is cancelled or fails, no contract is concluded.
- We reserve the right to reject orders, in particular where misuse of discount codes or commercial resale (§ 7) is suspected.
§ 3 Prices and payment
- The prices shown in the ticket shop at the time of the order apply. All prices are total prices in euros including statutory VAT, currently 19%. As the event takes place in Hannover, German VAT is charged also to customers based outside Germany.
- Payment is processed by the payment service provider Stripe (Stripe Payments Europe, Ltd., Dublin, Ireland), in particular by credit card, Apple Pay, Google Pay or other payment methods offered there. In this case, the purchase price is due immediately upon ordering.
- Businesses (Section 14 BGB), in particular companies and law firms, and public contracting authorities (public authorities and other public institutions) can also pay by invoice. Public contracting authorities can additionally receive the invoice as an electronic invoice (XRechnung) by providing their Leitweg-ID. They receive the invoice by email immediately after ordering; it is payable without deduction on receipt of the invoice unless another period is stated on the invoice. We send the tickets with the order. Pay by invoice is not available to consumers.
- If the customer defaults on payment when paying by invoice, the statutory provisions apply; we are also entitled to block the tickets of the order until payment is received.
- Early bird prices and other time-limited prices apply only until the stated deadline.
§ 4 Discount codes
- Discount codes grant a reduction of the ticket price. They are not vouchers or gift cards.
- A discount code is only valid under the conditions associated with it, such as certain ticket types, a certain period, a minimum number of tickets or a maximum number of redemptions. The ticket shop shows whether a code applies to an order before it is submitted.
- Only one discount code can be redeemed per order. Discount codes cannot be combined, are not transferable unless stated otherwise and cannot be redeemed for cash. They cannot be applied retrospectively to orders already completed.
- If an order paid with a discount code is refunded, only the amount actually paid is refunded.
§ 5 Invoice and booking confirmation
- The customer receives an invoice as a PDF by email to the (invoice) email address provided – after receipt of payment when paying via Stripe, immediately after ordering when paying by invoice. The invoice is issued to the billing address entered in the ticket shop; any discount granted is shown together with the discount code.
- For free tickets (total price €0), the customer receives a booking confirmation, not an invoice.
- The customer is responsible for the accuracy of the billing details. A subsequent change of the billing address is made by a cancellation invoice and a new invoice, where legally permissible.
§ 6 Tickets, personalisation, name changes
- Each ticket is issued in the name of the person specified in the order and entitles only that person to a single admission to the event. The ticket is sent to the attendee by email with a QR code.
- The attendee’s name can be changed free of charge until one day before the event (up to and including 2 December 2026); an email to info@germanlegaltechhub.com or, where offered, the change via the link in the ticket email is sufficient. Upon the change, the previous ticket becomes invalid.
- We may request photo ID at admission and refuse admission if the person does not match the name on the ticket. Reduced tickets (e.g. for students and public authorities) are only valid with valid proof, to be presented at admission; without proof, we may refuse admission or request payment of the difference to the regular ticket price.
- If a ticket is lost, we will resend it on request. Each QR code entitles to one admission only.
§ 7 Transfer and resale
- A ticket may only be passed on to another person by way of a name change under § 6 (2).
- Commercial resale of tickets, resale at a price higher than the price paid and offering tickets on auction or secondary market platforms are prohibited.
- In the event of a breach of paragraph 2, we may block the tickets concerned and refuse admission; in this case, the purchase price is refunded less any costs incurred by us.
§ 8 Right of withdrawal for consumers, no returns
- As a precaution – irrespective of whether the exception in Section 312g (2) no. 9 BGB for events on a fixed date applies – we grant consumers who order tickets as private individuals a right of withdrawal in accordance with the following withdrawal policy. Withdrawal can also be declared using the “Withdraw from contract” button.
- Businesses (Section 14 BGB) and public contracting authorities, in particular orders placed as a company, law firm or public authority, have no right of withdrawal. Their order is binding once submitted.
- Otherwise, paid tickets cannot be returned or exchanged. If an attendee cannot attend, the ticket can be transferred to another person free of charge under § 6 (2). Whether we grant a refund as a goodwill gesture in individual cases is at our sole discretion; there is no entitlement to it.
Withdrawal policy
Right of withdrawal
You have the right to withdraw from this contract within fourteen days without giving any reason.
The withdrawal period is fourteen days from the day the contract is concluded.
To exercise your right of withdrawal, you must inform us (German Legal Tech Summit GmbH, Hans-Böckler-Allee 26, 30173 Hannover, Germany, phone +49 511 547 47 49 46, email info@germanlegaltechhub.com) of your decision to withdraw from this contract by means of a clear statement (e.g. a letter sent by post or an email). You may use the model withdrawal form, but this is not obligatory. You can also withdraw from the contract using the “Withdraw from contract” button on our website; we will then confirm receipt of your withdrawal by email without delay.
To meet the withdrawal deadline, it is sufficient for you to send your communication concerning your exercise of the right of withdrawal before the withdrawal period has expired.
Effects of withdrawal
If you withdraw from this contract, we shall reimburse to you all payments received from you without undue delay and in any event not later than fourteen days from the day on which we are informed about your decision to withdraw from this contract. We will carry out such reimbursement using the same means of payment as you used for the initial transaction, unless you have expressly agreed otherwise; in any event, you will not incur any fees as a result of such reimbursement. Upon withdrawal, the tickets of the order become invalid.
Expiry of the right of withdrawal
The right of withdrawal expires once we have fully performed the service, i.e. when the event has taken place on 3 December 2026.

§ 9 Cancellation and postponement of the event
- If the event is cancelled, we will refund the ticket price paid in full.
- If the event is moved to another date or to another venue in Hannover, the tickets remain valid. If attending on the new date or at the new venue cannot reasonably be expected of the customer, in particular in the case of a significant change, the customer may withdraw from the contract in text form within 14 days of receipt of our notification; the ticket price paid will then be refunded.
- We will inform customers of a cancellation or postponement without undue delay by email to the address given in the order.
- Further claims, in particular for reimbursement of travel or accommodation costs, exist only in accordance with § 11.
§ 10 Programme changes
- The programme is continuously updated. We reserve the right to change individual programme items, times, rooms, speakers or exhibitors, provided that such changes do not significantly alter the overall character of the event and are reasonable for the customer.
- Such changes do not entitle the customer to a price reduction or to withdraw. There is no entitlement to participate in individual programme formats with limited capacity (e.g. workshops, masterclasses, guided tours).
§ 11 Liability
- We are liable without limitation for damage resulting from injury to life, body or health based on a negligent or intentional breach of duty by us, our legal representatives or vicarious agents, and for other damage based on a grossly negligent or intentional breach of duty (Section 309 no. 7 BGB).
- In the event of a slightly negligent breach of material contractual obligations (obligations whose fulfilment makes the proper performance of the contract possible in the first place and on whose compliance the customer may regularly rely), our liability is limited to the foreseeable damage typical for the contract. Otherwise, liability for slight negligence is excluded.
- Liability under the German Product Liability Act and under guarantees given remains unaffected.
- For items brought along, in particular cloakroom items and valuables, we are liable only in accordance with the preceding paragraphs.
§ 12 House rules, safety
- Our domiciliary rights apply at the venue, supplemented by the house rules of the HCC Hannover (house rules of the venue). Instructions from event and security staff must be followed.
- We may exclude persons from the event who significantly disrupt it, violate the house rules or harass other attendees, exhibitors or staff. In this case, there is no entitlement to a refund of the ticket price.
- For security reasons, bag checks may be carried out and certain items may be excluded from admission.
§ 13 Photo and video recordings
- Photo and video recordings are made at the event by us and by service providers commissioned by us, and are used for reporting on the event and promoting future events, for example on our website and in social media. We also point this out on site.
- Attendees who do not wish to be recognisably depicted can inform the photography team on site or object to the use afterwards at info@germanlegaltechhub.com. Details can be found in our privacy notice.
§ 14 Data protection
We process the data of the customer and the attendees to process the order, to issue and check tickets and to run the event. Details, including on the payment service providers, can be found in our privacy notice. Contact details are passed on to exhibitors (e.g. by scanning the ticket at a stand) only with the attendee’s consent.
§ 15 Final provisions
- The contract language is German. An English version of these ticket terms is provided for information only; the German version is legally binding.
- We store the contract text (order data and the version of these ticket terms valid at the time of the order) and send it to the customer by email with the order confirmation. The current version of the ticket terms can be viewed, saved and printed on this page.
- The law of the Federal Republic of Germany applies, excluding the UN Convention on Contracts for the International Sale of Goods. For consumers, this choice of law applies only insofar as it does not deprive them of the protection of mandatory provisions of the law of the state in which they have their habitual residence.
- If the customer is a merchant, a legal entity under public law or a special fund under public law, Hannover is the exclusive place of jurisdiction for all disputes arising from this contract. For consumers, the statutory places of jurisdiction apply.
- We are neither willing nor obliged to participate in dispute resolution proceedings before a consumer arbitration board.
- Should individual provisions of these ticket terms be invalid, the validity of the remaining provisions remains unaffected. The statutory provisions take the place of the invalid provision.
