About Beck | Noxtua
Beck-Noxtua combines the specialist legal content of C.H.BECK publishing house with the AI technology of Noxtua. As a digital working environment for the German legal sector, the platform supports law firms, legal departments, the judiciary and public administration, as well as tax advisory and auditing. The focus is on research, analysis and the drafting of legal documents in a shared Legal AI Workspace.
A central foundation is formed by the curated content of beck-online. This is supplemented by specialist information from other legal publishers in Germany and Europe. The database covers various areas of law – from civil and commercial law to employment and social law, through to public law, criminal law and tax law. The specialist content is continuously updated and expanded.
When conducting legal research, Beck-Noxtua provides answers with references that can be checked directly in full text in beck-online. This allows users to trace statements in their original context and use them for further work. The combination of AI-supported processing and accessible sources makes it easier to explore legal questions in a structured way and examine differing views.
For document analysis, several documents can be evaluated together. Beck-Noxtua helps, for example, to examine contract portfolios using consistent criteria, extract data points and compare clauses. Results can be displayed in tabular form to highlight discrepancies and relevant information. References lead to the corresponding passages in the uploaded documents.
Recurring tasks can be prepared using custom review schemes and prompt templates. This allows law firms and companies to incorporate their own requirements into the analysis. For text drafting, Beck-Noxtua provides support with, among other things, drafts for pleadings, memos, clauses and client letters. Editing is possible both in the Workspace and in Microsoft Word. Suggested changes can be reviewed, accepted or rejected.
To accommodate different requirements regarding technology and infrastructure, Beck-Noxtua offers two categories of agents. Athena relies on open models within a European-controlled operating environment. Minerva provides access to international frontier models within a European setup. In this way, the platform takes account of different preferences when it comes to selecting and deploying AI.
Beck-Noxtua aims to simplify time-consuming preparatory work and make legal expertise directly usable for everyday document work. Professional assessment and decision-making remain with the users. The platform’s profile is shaped by the combination of publisher content, verifiable references and AI-supported workflows.
