About the speaker

Nora Diekmann is Legal Counsel IT & Digital and Head of Legal Transformation at Hellmann Worldwide Logistics, a globally operating transport and logistics company headquartered in Osnabrück. In this dual role, she combines legal advice with operational responsibility for the digital transformation of the legal department – giving her first-hand insight into where Legal AI creates real value and where it does not.

As Legal Counsel IT & Digital, she advises the Hellmann Group worldwide on IT law (including AI law). She negotiates software, SaaS, cloud and platform agreements, provides legal support for IT projects and reviews the terms of use of new providers – for example, with a view to whether company data may be used to train AI models and where data is hosted.

As Head of Legal Transformation, she leads a team of legal transformation specialists, including citizen developers, steers the legal tech roadmap and is responsible for the selection, implementation and governance of digital tools. The portfolio ranges from established solutions from external providers to in-house developments. One focus of her work is turning pilot projects into robust processes.

At the interface between legal and IT, she assesses AI use cases, helps shape internal AI governance and supports the implementation of the requirements of the AI Act within the company.

Her career at Hellmann began with an internship in the Legal & Compliance department in Miami. Since then, through various roles within the legal department, she has developed into the go-to contact for IT law and the person responsible for the digital transformation of the legal function.

She has documented her experience, among other things, in the article “Vom Legal-Tech-Piloten zur KI-gestützten Legal Operations – Automatisierte NDA-Prüfung bei Hellmann Worldwide Logistics”. It will appear in the edited volume “Generative KI im Mittelstand”, edited by Prof. Dr. Christoph Heinbach (FH Münster) and Joschka Hüllmann (University of Twente), with publication planned for 2027.

Alongside her professional work, Nora Diekmann is a board member of Hellmann helps e.V., which supports employees in emergency situations as well as social projects at home and abroad.
