Tobias Henze

Tobias Henze is a police officer and innovation driver. Until early 2026, he was project lead in the P20 programme, the largest digitalisation and modernisation project of the German police, which aims to unify the heavily fragmented IT landscape of the federal government and the states. As topic lead for “speech recognition”, he set a standard using AI-supported speech recognition to transcribe and translate interrogations, significantly improving the accuracy, efficiency and legal certainty of documentation. In 2019, he introduced the IT procedure for mobile “audiovisual interrogation” in the Saxon police force. He also led the integration of a vehicle licence plate recognition system to combat property crime and digitised traditional crime scene documentation.
