About the speaker
Domenic Tröger, LL.M. (né Trybull) is a lawyer for IT and data protection law. With his law firm LIT LEGAL, he advises start-ups and SMEs on the development of their own products and the introduction of new technologies, as well as at the interface of attorney professional law and the use of Legal Tech.
Domenic Tröger studied law at the University of Leipzig. Even during his studies, he worked as a research assistant at a Leipzig law firm specialising in data protection and IT law. During his legal traineeship (Referendariat), he gained experience at a data protection supervisory authority and at a B2B company in the field of data privacy.
After his legal traineeship, he worked at a Munich-based compliance-tech start-up as a Privacy Expert and Legal Engineer. At the interface of law and technology, he helped translate compliance requirements into digital processes. He complemented his legal focus with a Master's degree in Legal Informatics at the University of Passau. In his master's thesis, he examined sentiment analysis of judgments concerning claims for damages under Art. 82 GDPR.
In the field of Legal Tech, he is particularly focused on improving legal advice and transparency in legal work. His interest lies in the use of data and AI in law to improve workflows and client-oriented legal advice, as well as transparency in legal decisions.
He shares his insights in publications and talks. In 2026, his essay on the opportunities and challenges of sentiment analysis in the legal field was published in the Legal Tech Zeitschrift (LTZ). In the same year, he also wrote about current developments in the Legal Tech market and the enforcement of data protection claims. Under his former name Trybull, he had already published on data protection and Legal Tech, including in the Datenschutz-Berater and on the blog of the Legal Tech Lab Cologne.
Today, Domenic Tröger and his law firm primarily advise companies in the fields of Legal Tech, robotics and various SaaS platforms. He is also a lecturer at the University of Leipzig, where he teaches a seminar on international IT law and Legal Tech. In addition, he writes as an author for the Legal Tech Blog and gives talks on the sensible use of Legal Tech in start-ups and legal departments.
