About the speaker
Henning Schröder is a lawyer, mediator and graduate in business administration (BA) based in Hanover. As a certified specialist lawyer for commercial and corporate law and a certified specialist lawyer for tax law, he has been advising companies, shareholders and executives on business law matters for more than two decades. His work combines legal precision with a strong grasp of economic contexts and practicable solutions.
Henning Schröder began his professional career with training as an industrial clerk at Preussag AG in Hanover, while simultaneously studying business administration at the Leibniz-Akademie, graduating in 1994 as a business administrator (BA). He then studied law at the University of Hanover. Already during his studies, he worked as a research assistant in the department of civil law and business law. Professional experience at a US law firm, at Dresdner Bank AG in Frankfurt am Main, and as an audit assistant at Arthur Andersen complemented his legal training with sound experience at the interface of law, finance and business practice.
After completing his legal traineeship in the district of the Higher Regional Court of Celle, Henning Schröder initially worked as a lawyer at a commercial law firm in Hanover. In 2004, he founded the law firm Henning Schröder. In 2007, he obtained the qualification as a certified specialist lawyer for commercial and corporate law, followed in 2008 by the specialist qualification in tax law. He completed his training as a mediator in 2013.
His legal practice focuses on corporate and commercial law, tax law and insolvency law. He advises clients in particular on company formations, restructurings, shareholder disputes, company acquisitions and disposals, succession arrangements, and demanding business decisions with tax and economic implications. Another key focus is commercial mediation: here, he supports parties in resolving disputes in a structured, interest-based manner that produces workable solutions.
Alongside his legal practice, Henning Schröder is particularly committed to the legal profession and legal education. He is President of the Niedersächsischer Anwalt- und Notarverband e.V., which represents the interests of Lower Saxony's lawyers' and notaries' associations, and a member of the board of the Deutscher Anwaltverein. From 2019 to 2024, he previously served as chairman of the Rechtsanwalts- und Notarverein Hannover e.V.
As a member of the Landesjustizprüfungsamt at the Lower Saxony Ministry of Justice, Henning Schröder serves as presiding examiner for the Second State Law Examination. He also works as a working group leader for trainee lawyers at the Landgericht Hannover and gives lectures at training events, including for the Rechtsanwaltskammer Celle.
Henning Schröder publishes regularly on corporate and tax law topics. His professional and policy engagement is further reflected in memberships, including with the Institut für Insolvenzrecht e.V., the Deutsche Institution für Schiedsgerichtsbarkeit e.V., the Centrale für Mediation, as well as the working groups on commercial and corporate law and tax law of the Deutscher Anwaltverein.
