About the speaker
Prof. Dr. Florian Offergelt is Managing Partner of the consultancy quantics plus and Professor of Organizational Knowledge Management and Leadership at the Hochschulinstitut Schaffhausen (HSSH). He is particularly interested in how leadership shapes the way organisations handle knowledge.
He has worked in strategy and management consulting since 2012. Together with Sebastian Hofreiter and Thomas Steiner, he founded quantics plus, a consultancy that brings together psychology and data science and has carried out over 250 projects in the DACH region. From 2019 to 2024, he was an Assistant Professor at the private university Schloss Seeburg; since 2024, he has been teaching and researching at HSSH.
His work focuses on experiential knowledge – the know-how that professionals build up over years and that is not written down in any manual. When they retire, this knowledge leaves the organisation with them, often without anyone noticing.
To safeguard this knowledge, he and his team develop digital knowledge twins. These are AI-supported systems that make the knowledge of individual experts accessible to others. However, such a twin automatically captures experiential knowledge only to a certain depth. For this reason, quantics plus has developed its own knowledge-elicitation method called IMPRINT™. It also captures implicit knowledge that the experts themselves are barely aware of. As a result, quantics plus, together with Stahl Automotive Consulting, has been nominated for the Best of Industry Award 2026 in the Artificial Intelligence category.
He is familiar with the world of law firms from practical experience. With quantics plus, he has for years supported tax advisory firms on their growth path. The team has assisted with acquisitions and helped build new locations, along with the structures a growing firm needs.
With regard to law firms and legal departments, he is concerned with how the experiential knowledge of long-serving professionals can be preserved and made usable with AI while the experienced staff are still on board. This includes the question of what an AI system can learn from files and documents, and what it still needs the people who hold that knowledge in their heads for.
As a researcher, he studies knowledge hiding. He is interested in why people deliberately withhold knowledge and what role leaders play in this. His work has been published in the Journal of Organizational Behavior (2019) and the Journal of Knowledge Management (2023). Together with his two co-founders, he edited the volume “Wissensmanagement in modernen Organisationen” published by Springer Gabler in 2024. This was followed in 2025 by the co-authored essential “Künstliche Intelligenz im modernen Wissensmanagement”, published by Springer.
He is also co-founder and a member of the scientific advisory board of Vybera, a company that measures performance and readiness for change within organisations.
On stage, his focus is on digital knowledge twins and what AI does not know about experiential knowledge. In 2026, he spoke on this topic at the Di4 Summit in Munich and at the KnowledgeCamp of the Gesellschaft für Wissensmanagement in Berlin. In June 2027, he will be a guest at the symposium of the Deutscher Terminologie-Tag in Worms.
He writes the LinkedIn newsletter “Wirtschaft. Wissen. Wirkung.” and is active on Instagram as “der_wissensarchitekt”. He volunteers in the youth exchange programme of Rotary District 1842.
