Dr. Alexander Georgiadis

After studying industrial engineering, Dr Georgiadis completed his doctorate in the field of digital production (Industry 4.0). At the same time, he was a founding member of the Mittelstand 4.0 Competence Centre Hannover, before moving to the Lower Saxony Ministry of Economic Affairs, Transport, Building and Digitalisation in 2017, where he subsequently worked in various positions in the field of digitalisation, both there and at the Lower Saxony State Chancellery. In September 2025, as part of a new consolidation of Lower Saxony's digitalisation activities, Dr Georgiadis moved to the Lower Saxony Ministry of the Interior, Sport and Digitalisation. There, he initially served as Head of Division for Innovative Technologies for Business and Administration, before taking over the leadership of the new Digitalisation Department and the role of Chief Information Officer (CIO) of the State of Lower Saxony in March 2026.
